May Workshop Projects

My monthly workshop club meets tomorrow....National Scrapbook Day!  Here's the projects we will be making this month.  The scrapbook page and the pinwheel card are both made using the Close to My Heart DreamPop paper pack, which is the special this month.  With any qualifying $35 purchase, you can get the DreamPop paper pack for only $10!!  It's beautiful paper, very bright and yummy!

Claire Blog Hop

This month's Blog Hop features the Claire paperpack.  I just love the colors of this pack!!  I decorated the bracket frame using an inspirational theme rather than a picture.  The flowers were made using the Art Philosophy Cartridge (inspiration courtesy of Cathy Derouche, a fellow Damask Diva).  The balloons, bird, and sun were cut out with the Artiste Cartridge. The sentiment is computer-printed on White Daisy cardstock in dark blue ink and matted with Outdoor Denim cardstock.

Quick Cards

I'm having my monthly workshop today and these are the cards we are going to make.  This month we're using the Buzz and Bumble paper pack so I thought these stamp sets were a great choice.  I love the Quick Cards stamps because you can make a card in no time but it doesn't look like something just "thrown together." I used Exclusives ink in Cocoa to stamp the images, then colored in various parts of the image with a yellow Copic marker.  All of the items used (except the Copic marker) can be purchased on my website at jamieblades.ctmh.com.  Thanks for visiting!

Damask Divas Buzz and Bumble Blog Hop

This month, I chose to make a project that I can use every day! (well, at least 5 days/week).  I carry a clipboard at work and was getting a little bored with the one I had so I came up with this one.  It was fun, quick, and easy to put together.

I used the following products: the Buzz and Bumble WOTG Scrapbooking Kit, glitter paper in brown/tan, Bohemian alphabet stamp set(found in the previous Idea Book), Distressed Backgrounds stamp set, Exclusive inks in Sunset and Chocolate, Copic markers cream YR21 & sanguine YR18 (used those to color the large flowers on the back of the clipboard), Liquid Glass, and Mod Podge (I used the gloss-lustre finish).

For the back I just tore random pieces and glued them in place with Mod Podge to make the background.  I also used the Mod Podge to glue everything else in place, with the exception of the "wax" seal embellishment and the jewels on the small flowers on the back....I used Liquid Glass to adhere those. Then I just applied two additional thin coats of Mod Podge on the whole thing (letting them dry in between) and it's ready to go!!

Chantilly Blog Hop

If you just jumped here, check out our blog at www.DamaskDivas.com/BlogHopChantilly for a complete list of blog participants.   I made a card using the Chantilly line of Close To My Heart papers.  The card pattern is from the CTMH Originals pattern book, Diamond Stack pattern. The card is 5 1/2 inches square.  I used Buttercup cardstock as the card base covered with Chantilly papers and inked the edges with Cotton Candy pigment ink.  The "stitching" was stamped in black ink using the Stitched Together stamp set.  I cut the pinwheels at 1 1/4 inch using the Cricut Artiste cartridge.   I used the same cartridge to cut the "hello" word balloon.  The word balloon is stamped with Pear pigment ink and matted on chantilly papers.  I just increased the size of the word balloon by 1/4 inch for each paper and cut the little tag part of the word balloon off, then covered that area with another pinwheel.  Sparkles on the pinwheels complete the card.

This paper line really makes me think of spring and lots of cute ideas for scrapbooking too!  We hope you can find some inspiration yourself as you browse our projects. You can find all of the items I used at Close To My Heart. Thanks for hopping with us!!

Whooo's Your Valentine Blog Hop

I created this perfect little box for your valentine treats!   I used the Whooo's Your Valentine Kit and the Cricut Artiste cartridge (available from your Close To My Heart Independent Consultant). The box, heart borders, and medallion are all found on page 71 of the cartridge booklet. The box was cut at 5 inches using Hollyhock cardstock.  The heart borders were cut at 5 inches as well, using Blush cardstock and one of the black papers from the For Always paperpack, and glued them offset from each other.  The medallion was cut at 2 3/4 inches (using one of the For Always papers). I used black shimmer trim across top flap and behind medallion. Sentiment was stamped on 1 1/4 inch circle of  Colonial white cardstock using Hollyhock mini pigment pad, matted with 1  1/2 inch circle of silver glitter paper (from the Whooo's Your Valentine Kit) and glued to medallion.  The box is tied shut with plain black satin ribbon.  I also used the same Hollyhock ink to ink all the edges of the box.
