Damask Divas Blog Hop-Sarita

Hi!  If you came from Roberta's blog then you are in the right place!  If you are here by chance, be sure to check out the full list of blog participants at the Damask Divas Blog.

I like to create home decor items so when I saw this frame at the gift shop where I work I had to buy it....I knew I would come up with something!   It's an open back frame and the inner opening is 6x6 inches.  I started by layering some chipboard (4 pieces of 6x6 inch) in the opening so my sentiment wasn't so "deep" into the frame. The sentiment piece and frame around the sentiment was cut at 3 1/2 inches. After I glued the frame to the sentiment, I inked the edges with Gypsy ink. The large flowers were made using the Sarita textiles and adhesive circles (just twist strips of fabric and beginning in the center, coil the strip around onto the adhesive. The smaller flower is made with (4) 1-inch circles that have been quartered and secured to an adhesive dot, then metal accent glued in the middle. The "ribbons" are also Sarita textiles.  I finished it off with black sparkles flourishes and the floral accents. The sentiment was then adhered with foam tape.  It went together pretty quickly!
